Go to hook up my second monitor, well crap, no HDMI only DP.Īny one know of a HDMI to DP converter? My google fu is failing me. No biggie, get an DP to HDMI converters hook those up to the KVM switch (had one DP to HDMI cable already, only needed one converter). My nice 27" monitor has HDMI and that makes audio easy (external speakers on the monitor via HDMI with the PC's sending audio via HDMI), get everything ready and well, the docking stations / pc's only have a single HDMI and then a display port. All in all, the CKL 922HUA-3 is a solid choice for anyone with a lot of USB. Proceed to pickup an HDMI Dual KVM switch with all the cables included. Switching machines takes a few seconds but this is to be expected of a dual monitor KVM switch at this price point. So no biggie ill just grab a dual monitor kvm switch build some sort of shelf / rack for the laptops with docking stations, hook everything up and ill be good. So have my personal gaming pc, my work machine, and now a third "work" machine. (Have a client that wants to send me their PC instead of a VM RDP host or VM on my local machine with their VPN.) So I am finally having to bite the bullet and pick up a KVM switch. Appreciate any help!Īlso attached a pic of my baby since everybody posts their builds :D Outputs: Monitor 3440x1440144Hz (144Hz needed for PC, but 60Hz will do fine for MacBook) USB 2.0: Keyboard, mouse, audio DAC.
Inputs: PC: DisplayPort 1.4 + USB-A 3.2 or USB-C 3.2 (no video signal) MacBook: USB-C. Hopefully someone has had my same issue and found a solution. I want to make my gaming PC play ball with my work MacBook. When i was searching, I found these "KVM Switches", but most only seem to support 30/60 hz monitors, which will obviously f me when I want to game on my windows build.
#MAC PC KVM PLUS#
I have 2 4k monitors and my gaming monitor, plus cam, keyboard, mouse, streamdeck, headset.ĭoes anybody know a good solution for running all these devices over two pcs and switching easily? My plan is to get a Mac Mini this week which I will use just for programming, it should have enough power.
#MAC PC KVM SOFTWARE#
I have an awesome windows build which is perfect for gaming, įor programming windows isn't great(for me atleast) linux isn't an option due to other software I need for my day to day. Now Mac or PC users can conveniently access and control multiple Apple G3/4 series or IBM type PCs from a single keyboard, monitor and mouse as well as share a. I'm not sure if "KVM Switch" is the correct word.
